Our Care

Every resident at Field House has an 18-section care plan, written with them, their family and their medical professionals, and reviewed as their wishes and needs change. Families can read it at any time on our online Family Portal, along with real-time updates on activities, meals and medication. We work closely with local GPs, community nurses, opticians, dentists and occupational therapists to look after every aspect of residents’ health.

We offer a number of care options at Field House, including permanent residential care, specialist dementia care, respite care, emergency respite care, day care, and couples care. We aim to provide flexible and affordable support to meet the unique requirements of each resident. We always maintain independence and enhancing overall wellbeing for our residents.

I cannot recommend this care home enough. I looked after Mum at home for years and was nervy about residential, but I’m delighted with Field House.

Our Home

Field House is a beautifully maintained Grade II* listed country house in 10 acres of parkland. We have preserved the building’s original character, including the high ceilings, period features and elegant proportions, and added modern accessibility, high-specification heating and telecommunications throughout.

Inside there are dining rooms in the Main House and the Cottage, homely lounges, a hairdressing room and our own fully functioning pub, with space for visiting physiotherapists, dentists, opticians and GPs. Bedrooms are spacious and well appointed, many with en-suite bathrooms, and every room has telephone, internet and television connections. Residents are encouraged to bring a favourite armchair, family photos and small pieces of furniture, and our couples rooms have a double bed or twin beds.

Activities & Wellbeing

We care for the whole person, mind, body and spirit, and families often see real improvements once their loved one joins us, from better mobility to a healthier weight and a renewed enjoyment of life. Our Activities Coordinators build the care home activities programme around each resident’s interests, and staff and visitors are encouraged to join in.

Regular activities include:

  • Singing and music sessions
  • Board games and puzzles
  • Flower arranging and gardening
  • Arts and crafts
  • Regular trips to local attractions

We also hold events for residents, families and the local community. We support residents to practice their faith, and our Dignity Champions make sure every resident’s dignity is protected in everything we do.

Our Team

Field House is run day to day by our Registered Manager, Anna Demicoli, and Deputy Manager, Debbie. Anna has been Registered Manager at Field House since 2020 and specialises in dementia care, including advanced dementia. Debbie has nearly 20 years of experience across social care and leads our team in delivering person-centred care. Administrator Katie keeps the home running smoothly, and our Activities Coordinators plan each day’s programme.

We keep some of the highest staff-to-resident ratios in care, and you are welcome to ask to see the rota and our training matrix when you visit. Team members wear colour-coded uniforms, so you can always see who does what. Find out more about our dedicated care home team.

Food & Nutrition

Our in-house chefs, led by our Head Chef, cook fresh, nutritious meals every day, with snacks and drinks available around the clock. Every meal has at least two choices, and if neither appeals we are happy to prepare something else. Specialist diets are part of each resident’s care plan, and our team supports anyone who finds eating or drinking difficult.

A typical day starts with a continental or cooked breakfast made to order. Lunch brings meat, fish and vegetarian dishes with seasonal sides, followed by homemade sandwiches and cakes in the afternoon and a lighter or heartier dinner in the evening, with hot drinks and a bedtime snack if wanted. We recently opened up part of the Main House to create a larger dining hall. Find out more about our menu options.

“The staff at Field House are genuinely caring, it is home from home for residents, in a loving safe environment.”
